PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University women's soccer team honored one of their own when they named junior defender Brenda Gore the 2001 Temple women's soccer Player of the Year. The recipient of the award was chosen by the entire team.
Gore, a graduate of William Tennant High School, whom head coach Seamus Mc Williams called "the consummate team player," started all 18 games for the Owls this season while posting one point on one assist. According to Mc Williams, "when I asked Brenda to move to a defender's role she didn't hesitate and she has proven to be one of the top defenders in the Atlantic 10 Conference."
