Temple University head football coach Bobby Wallace today (Monday, March 4, 2002) named David Brock offensive coordinator and Toby Neinas defensive line coach.

In 2000, Hofstra concluded the year ranked No. 7 with a 9-4 record and also ranked among the nation's top 20 in scoring offense, passing offense and total offense. During Brock's last five seasons in Hempstead, N.Y., the team averaged 35.8 points per game and 446.8 yards per contest.

A native of Moorestown, N.J., Brock, 34, played inside linebacker at Ferrum (Va.) College before earning a bachelor of science degree in political science from Salisbury (Md.) State University. He began his coaching career as an assistant at Salisbury State in 1988 before serving as secondary coach/recruiting coordinator at Western Connecticut State from 1991-93. In 1994, Brock returned to coach at Salisbury before accepting the position of running backs coach/recruiting coordinator at Hofstra in 1995. Brock served as Hofstra's wide receivers coach/recruiting coordinator from 1997-1999.

Neinas arrives in Owl Country from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where he has served as an assistant coach since 1996. In 2001, the Blazers led the nation in rushing defense (57.3 yards/game) and placed fifth in total defense (265.9 yard/game) en route to a 6-5 (5-2 Conference USA) record. During his tenure at UAB, Neinas coached safeties, defensive ends, outside linebackers, running backs, tight ends, punt team and kickoff team.

A native of Boulder, Colorado, Neinas, 30, earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from the University of Missouri in 1995, where he began his coaching career as a student assistant coach under Bob Stull from 1992 to 1994. In 1995, Neinas served as a graduate assistant coach at the University of North Carolina under Mack Brown.
