OWLS SWEEP SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER WITH FORDHAM, EXTEND WIN STREAK TO NINE GAMES

The victories extend the Owls win streak to nine games.
In the first game the Owls took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first as Spencer led off the game with a single, stole second, and scored one out later on Grace's home run, her third of the year. One out later Christine Harris homered to left, her fourth of the year, to give Temple a 3-0 lead.
Fordham cut the deficit to 3-1 in the bottom of the inning as Ivy Pollock led off the inning with a single and took second when Laura Curley was hit by a pitch. Carol Fischer's fielder's choice moved Pollock to third where she scored one out later on an error.
The Rams cut it to 3-2 with a run in the third. Curley led of the inning with a single and took second on a single from Fischer. Out later the two runners moved up a base on a wild pitch and Curley would then score on another wild pitch.
The Owls took a 5-2 lead in the fifth on an RBI double from Bari Pflueger and an RBI single from Gary. Temple then took a commanding 10-2 lead with a five-run seventh, capped by a two-run single from Spencer.
The Rams picked up their final run in the bottom of the inning on an RBI single from Jaime Giguere.
Pollock finished the game 2-for-4 for the Rams with two runs scored.
Pflueger (6-9) picked up the win for the Owls in game one, throwing six innings of four-hit ball, striking out four while Harris was 2-for-2 with two RBI.
In the second game the Owls again jumped out to a first-inning lead, scoring three times in the frame. Spencer led off the game with a home run, her second of the year and later in the inning Gary added a two-run single.
Fordham picked up a run in the bottom of the inning as Pollock led off with a double and took second on Curley's bunt single. Fischer then followed with a single to plate Pollock.
Temple would take an 8-1 lead with five runs in the third, taking advantage of two Fordham errors. The Owls would then put the game away with three more in the fourth on RBI singles from Aida Esquer and Spencer and a bases loaded walk to Alexia Pena.
Naughton (6-9) limited the Rams to four hits, a double from Pollock and singles to Curley, Fischer and Kerry Rigas to earn the win. Gary finished game two 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
