TEMPLE LACROSSE TOPS LAFAYETTE

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple lacrosse team (4-3) notched its second straight home victory with a 13-6 win over Lafayette (5-5) on April 2 at Geasey Field. The Leopards jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the first half but it was all Owls after that as Temple led 8-3 at intermission. In the second half, the Owls continued their offensive assault, outscoring Lafayette, 5-3 down the stretch.

Junior Deanna Radcliffe (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led Temple with 3 goals. Fellow juniors Patience Synnestvedt (Bryn Athyn, Pa./Academy of the New Church) and Jessica Yemm (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) along with senior Jennifer Jefferson (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis)) each scored two goals for the Owls. Senior Robin Keevan (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) and junior Liz Frengs (Collingswood, N.J./Collingswood) added two assists. Junior goalkeeper Sheena Oommen (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) recorded 14 saves.

Fallon Cunningham (Bangall, N.Y./Millbrook School) led the Leopards with two goals. Senior goalkeeper Leela Strong (Fallsburg, N.Y./Wayland) posted 14 saves.

Temple opens its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on the road by visiting Richmond, April 5 at 3:30 p.m. followed by a 12:00 p.m. game on April 7 at George Washington.
