No. 19 TEMPLE WINS THE BATTLE OF THE BIRDS, DEFEATING DELAWARE 11-10

PHILADELPHIA-- The Temple University (10-4, 5-0 Atlantic 10) lacrosse team won a hard fought battle over the University of Delaware, 11-10 on Wednesday, April 24 at Geasey Field. The Owls were held scoreless for the first 17 minutes of the game, but cut the lead to 5-4 by the end of the half.

Junior Patience Synnestvedt (Bryn Athyn, Pa./Academy of the New Church) led the Owls with four points (three goals, one assist). Senior Noelle Cebron (Yorktown, N.Y./Yorktown) posted three goals for Temple while senior Robin Keevan (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) recorded two goals and one assist. Junior teammate Liz Frengs (Collingswood, N.J./ Collingswood) netted one goal and two assists. Sophomore Tiffany Pulaski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) added to the Owls offensive attack with two goals. Senior co-captain Jen Jefferson (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) added an assist and junior Jessica Yemm (Malvern, Pa./Great Valley) contributed one goal. Senior goalkeeper Sheena Oommen (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park) recorded 10 saves in the victory.

Senior Corinne Shuck (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) led the Blue Hens with three points (two goals and one assist). Michelle Campolettano (Massapequa Park, N.Y./St. Anthony's) and Nikki Kucharski (Englewood, Co./Cherry Creek) added two goals apiece for Delaware. Senior goalkeeper Laurie Tortorelli (Havertown, Pa./Haverford) recorded 19 saves for Delaware.

The Owls continue their season ending home stand with conference games against St. Bonaventure on Friday, April 26 at 3:00 p.m. followed by senior day on Sunday, April 28 at 12:00 noon against Duquesne.
