Elected into the Temple University Athletic Hall of Fame in 1980, Robinson was named Temple's most valuable player after the 1952 and 1954 seasons when he led the Owls in both rushing and scoring. Robinson twice received Maxwell Club weekly awards.
After graduating from Temple in 1955, Robinson played professional football for seven years in the Canadian Football League, where he was an All-East offensive back with the Hamilton Tiger Cats in 1956. In 1977, Robinson became the first head football coach at Cumberland Regional High School in Upper Deerfield Township, N.J., a position he held for two years before being named the school's athletic director in 1978, in which capacity he served for nearly 10 years.
Born December 22, 1932 in Bridgeton, N.J., Robinson was a two-time All-State football honoree at Bridgeton High School. One of the best athletes to come out of the Bridgeton area, he was a member of the Bridgeton South Jersey Sports Hall of Fame and the South Jersey Coaches Hall of Fame.
