TEMPLE NETS FIRST CONFERENCE WIN OVER RICHMOND IN DOUBLE OVERTIME

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse team (5-3, 1-0 Atlantic 10) notched its first conference victory with a 12-11 win over Richmond in double overtime on April 5 at President*fs Field in Richmond, Va.

For the second consecutive game, junior Deanna Radcliffe (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) led the Owls with three goals. Senior Noelle Cebron (Yorktown, N.Y./ Yorktown), sophomore Tiffany Pulaski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) and junior Liz Frengs (Collingswood, N.J./Collingswood) scored two goals each. Senior co-captain Jen Jefferson (Annapolis, Md./Annapolis) and junior Patience Synnestvedt (Bryn Athyn, Pa./Academy of the New Church) netted a goal apiece for Temple. Cebron recorded two assists and Pulaski posted one for the Owls. Junior goalkeeper Sheena Oommen (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park) recorded 18 saves.

Sophomore Polly Purcell led the Spiders in points with two goals and two assists. Fellow teammate Carrie Aitken added three goals for Richmond. Goalkeeper Kelly Johnson recorded 16 saves for the Spiders.

Temple continues its Atlantic 10 Conference schedule on the road by visiting George Washington. The game begins at 12 p.m. on Sunday, April 7.
