CHRISTINE HARRIS NAMED A-10 SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Harris, a first baseman and left fielder, batted seven for eleven with two doubles and two home runs against La Salle, as the Owls swept a three-game series against their city rival this past weekend, April 6-7, at Temple's Erny Field. Harris also scored four runs, had 15 total bases, a .636 on base percentage and a 1.346 slugging percentage in the three-game set.
This season, Harris has a .268 batting average, a .303 on base percentage and a .493 slugging percentage playing in 28 games (27 starts). She has 19 hits in 71 at bats, five doubles, three home runs, 12 runs, 17 RBIs and 35 total bases.
Temple (15-20, 6-3 A-10) has won six straight conference games under the direction of fifth-year head coach Rocci Pignoli. The Owls registered back-to-back weekend, three-game sweeps over city rivals Saint Joseph's (March 29-30) and La Salle.
The Owls return to action this Wednesday, April 10, with a 4:00 p.m. game at Erny Field against another Philadelphia foe, Pennsylvania.
