SOFTBALL DROPS GET-AWAY GAME, GEARS UP FOR A-10'S

Despite Dayton's victory, the Flyers were eliminated from postseason play as Saint Joseph's split a doubleheader with Rhode Island. The Rams and Hawks will battle it out on Sunday to see who earns the third seed and the right to take on the Owls on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in Kingston, R.I. at the opening round of the Atlantic 10 Championships. The top four teams qaulify for the league's tournament. Massachusetts has already clinched the top seed.
Despite 10 hits, Temple was unable to put any runs on the board in Saturday's contest versus Dayton as the Owls left nine runners on base. The Flyers used a four-run second inning to secure the victory.
Liz Naughton was tagged with the loss, allowing four earned runs in 1 1/3 innings of work. Nanci Lima pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief.
Katie Spencer, Lynsey Grace, Alexis Gary and Ashley Caudill each had two hits to lead Temple at the plate.
