Fourth Annual Summer Shore Visit
Temple University Head Football Coach Bobby Wallace will present season tickets to the mayors of Cape May and Ocean City as he leads his 2002 Temple Owls to both New Jersey Shore resorts on Sunday, July 21, for their Fourth Annual Shore Tour.
Vacationing Temple loyalists who wear their cherry and white and stop by to say hello to the visiting Owls in either city will receive free tickets to the August 29 home opener against the University of Richmond at Franklin Field.
The day begins at 9:15 a.m. when the 2002 Owls, their mascot, "Hooter," and a squad of cheerleaders and dancers, flocks to the Rusty Nail in Cape May for a breakfast with civic leaders. City Councilman Dr. Edward J. Mahaney will accept the tickets to Cape May from Coach Wallace there.
The tour will then move to Convention Hall on Cape May's Beach Promenade, where the Owls will greet fans -- especially those wearing their cherry and white -- from 10-11 a.m.
From there, it's a short flight northward to the Ocean City Music Pier, which will be the Owls' landing zone from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Ocean City Mayor Bud Knight will be invited to receive his city's tickets there.
"Everyone knows the New Jersey Shore is a favorite flight path for migrating birds, and that includes vacationing Temple fans," said Coach Wallace. "We'll goy anywhere to see them, and we're looking forward to seeing lots of them on the 21st!"
