The four Owl gridders represented the Cherry & White at the event, which officially marked the beginning of the league's 2002 season. Bill Bradshaw, Temple's new Director of Athletics and Jack Lengyel, the current Interim Director of Athletics, were also in attendance.
Players, coaches and administrators from all eight of the league's football member schools interacted with the press at the function, which featured a media contingent from across the country.
The Big East Conference concluded the 2001 season with a 4-1 (.800) record in bowl games, the best postseason percentage of any Bowl Championship Series conference.
Temple newcomers report to camp on Friday, August 2 and hit the field for the first time on Saturday, August 3. The Owls begin preseason practice as a full squad on Thursday, August 8.
Temple's annual football media day is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 7 at the Edberg-Olson Hall facility.
The Owls open the 2002 campaign versus Richmond at Franklin Field in a 7:00 pm contest on Thursday, August 29.
