WOMEN'S SOCCER RECEIVES NSCAA ADIDAS ACADEMIC AWARD FOR THIRD STRAIGHT YEAR

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University women's soccer team has received the 2001-02 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Adidas Academic Award. The Owls have now earned the award the past three years and for the fourth time in the last five years. The Owls, coached by nine year Head Coach Seamus Mc Williams, attained a 3.269 GPA for the 2001-02 academic year.
Seven Owls were named to the Dean's List and three members of the team including seniors Brandi Wright, Julie Marx and Brook Cholaj earned a 4.0 GPA for the spring semester.
" It goes without saying that the academic accomplishments of these student-athletes are a reflection of their dedication and consistent efforts," said Mc Williams. "Being a student- athlete today is very challenging. There is no doubt that their hard work will result in future dividends for them."
