TEMPLE FOOTBALL TO HOLD SATURDAY SCRIMMAGE

The Temple football team, under the direction of fifth-year head coach Bobby Wallace, will hold an intra-squad scrimmage at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday (August 17, 2002) at the Edberg-Olson Hall Practice Facility, located at 11th and Diamond Streets on the Temple campus.

Despite the high temperatures and spirited practice sessions thus far this preseason, the Owls have remained healthy, with the exception of some minor bumps and bruises.

The Owls' no-huddle, spread offense, under the direction of new offensive coordinator Dave Brock, will be on display on Saturday. It will be matched against a Temple defense, under the direction of coordinator Raymond Monica and featuring the "Men In Black," that concluded the 2001 campaign ranked 19th nationally.

A Big East Conference officiating crew will be on hand to referee the scrimmage.

The Owls open their 104th season of collegiate football on Thursday, August 29, 2002 with a 7:00 p.m. contest against Richmond at historic Franklin Field.
