WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO NC STATE 7-1

PHILADELPHIA -- In the first ever meeting between the two teams, the Temple University women's soccer team (3-3) lost to North Carolina State Wolfpack 7-1 yesterday, September 15, 2002 at NC State.
The Owls lone goal came on an unassisted shot to the left corner of the net by freshman midfielder Kiana Johnson for her second collegiate goal. The Wolfpack's offense came alive then and scored six more goals, three more in the first period and three in the second, to secure their third win of the season. The Owls were out-shot 19-4.
Owls goalie Jackie Mauro played all 90 minutes in goal and posted seven saves.
The Temple women's soccer team is back in action this Wednesday, September 18. 2002 when they face the Drexel Dragon at 4:00 p.m.
