TEMPLE VOLLYEBALL TAMES TIGERS IN DAY ONE OF NEW MEXICO TOURNAMENT

9.21.02 | Women's Volleyball

Albuqerque, N.M. - The Temple University volleyball team (7-4,0-0) defeated Auburn (1-9, 0-0) 3-0 in day one of the New Mexico Tournament on September 20. The game scores were 30-16, 30-16 and 30-20 as the Owls out-hit the Tigers .298 to .069.

Junior outside hitter Yamit Haba led Temple with 15 kills and 13 digs while hitting a sizzling .565. Senior setter Solana Lee had a match-high 26 assists for the Owls.

Negin Azarbehi, Grace Boyd and Bailey Vent led Auburn with six kills apiece. Veit also recorded 11 digs while setter Lauren Couch dished out 24 assists for the Tigers.

Next up for Temple, day two of the New Mexico Tournament where the Owls will face the host New Mexico Lobos at noon on September 21 and SMU at 5:00 p.m. the same day.
