LOBOS PLAY UNKIND HOST TO OWLS IN DAY TWO OF NEW MEXICO VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

Albuquerque, N.M. The Temple volleyball team (7-5, 0-0) lost to host New Mexico (3-8, 0-0) 3-1 to open day two of the New Mexico Volleyball Tournament on September 21. The game scores were 30-22, 19-30, 21-30 and 28-30 as the Owls hit just .122 as a team in the match while the Lobos hit .254.
Junior outside hitter Xu Yun led Temple with 15 kills. Fellow juniors Yamit Haba and Margaret Majewska added 10 kills and 11 digs each. Senior Solana Lee was the primary setter and had 27 assists and 11 digs.
Anna Reines led New Mexico with 14 kills. The Lobos had four players record double digit kill numbers. Setter Monica Meihack had a match-high 44 assists.
Next up for Temple, a match with SMU at 5:00 p.m. to close out the tournament.
