OWLS BLANK EXPLORERS 3-0 IN VOLLEYBALL

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University volleyball team (9-5, 1-0 A-10) opened the Atlantic 10 portion of their schedule with a 3-0 win over the La Salle Explorers on September 24, 2002 at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 30-26, 30-26 and 30-22.
The Owls were led by outside hitter Yun Xu who posted a double-double with 16 kills and 12 digs. Junior outside hitter Yamit Haba contributed 18 kills and seven digs while middle blocker Margaret Majewska tallied 13 kills and seven digs. Setter Alison Runk had 46 assists.
La Salle was led by Elizabeth Cron with six kills and 12 digs. Setter Molly Thatcher had 21 assists.
The Temple Owls are back in action this Friday night, September 27, 2002 when they face the Fordham Rams at McGonigle Hall. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
