OWLS VOLLEYBALL DEFEATS RAMS 3-1

PHILADELPHIA -- The Temple University women's volleyball team (11-5, 2-0 A-10) improved their Atlantic 10 record to 2-0 when they defeated the Rhode Island Rams three games to one this afternoon, September 28, 2002 at McGonigle Hall. The game scores were 29-31, 30-28, 30-27, and 30-26.

Junior outside hitter Xu Yun posted her third double-double in as many games with 19 kills and 19 digs. Junior Yamit Haba contributed 19 kills and 13 digs while junior Liu Shu had 10 kills and 11 digs. Setter Alison Runk had 47 assists.

The Rams were led by Middle Blocker Michelle Fulton with 19 kills and two digs and outside hitter Kaleena Miller with 17 kills and 10 digs. Setter Juliana Valencia had 49 assists.

The Owls are on the road next week when they meet Duquesne on Friday, October 4. Match time is 7:00 p.m.
