WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROPS CONFERENCE OPENER TO SAINT JOSEPH'S

Sophomore guard Cynthia Jordan, making her second start of the season led the Owls with a game-high 26 points on 10-18 shooting. Foellow sophomore Ari Moore (19 points, eight rebounds) and senior guard Stacey Smalls (17 points) were the other Temple players in double figures. Jordan also led the Owls in assists (five) and steals (four). Redshirt freshman Rachel Marcus, in her first game action had a team-high tying eight rebounds.
Erin Brady led the Hawks with 20 points. Irina Krasnoshiok (16 points), Amra Mehmedic (11 points), Colleen MCGahan (10 points) and Stephanie Graff (10 points, game-high 13 rebounds).
Temple won the steals (13-3) and turnover (TU 9, SJU 24) battles but the Owls were out-rebounded 37-27 and the Hawks shot sixty percent from the field and seventy percent from the three-point arc.
Next up for the Owls, a home weekday matinee against Rhode Island on Thursday, January 9 at noon.
