WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WILL HOST RHODE ISLAND IN A-10 HOME OPENER

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple women's basketball team (4-8;0-1 A-10) will host Rhode Island (8-4;0-1 A-10)in the Owls Atlantic 10 home opener on Thursday, January 9 at 12 noon in the Liacouras Center (10,206).

Temple the defending A-10 champions is in the midst of a seven game losing streak, five of the Owls seven losses have come to teams ranked in the top 25 in the nation.

Temple leads the overall series 25-13. In the teams last meeting on Feb. 17, 2002 the Owls defeated Rhode Island 66-51.

There is no radio or television coverage.
