Combining the strength of both starters and reserves, the Rams earned offensive points from 10 players. The Rams scored their first goal on a corner kick in the 27th minute of play. Following a throw-in from junior midfielder Beth Purcell, junior midfielder Lena Daragiata sent a header to sophomore defender Lindsey Glode for the score. With almost six minutes remaining in the second half, Fordham senior goalkeeper Shannon Misiaszek punted the ball downfield to sophomore midfielder Caitlin Ganfuss, who one-touched the ball to freshman forward Holly Laubinger. Laubinger accepted the pass and nailed it into the net.
Daragiati initiated the Rams' second half five-goal scoring spree as she knocked a deflection into the goal at the 62:35 minute mark. About a minute later, junior defender Corey Dunfey sent a header into the goal as she accepted a throw-in from Purcell on a corner kick. At the 71:30 mark Dunfey sent a cross to Ganfuss, who knocked the ball across the goal line. In the 84th minute of play freshman forward Natasha Kayulu crossed the ball to freshman forward Sarah Hopkins, who drove the ball into the back of the net. The Rams' final goal came with only 19 seconds remaining in the game as Ganfuss picked up a rebounded shot and hammered it into the net.
In goal for the Owls, junior Jackie Mauro recorded 10 saves in 69:03 minutes of play. In 20:57 minutes of play, freshman goalkeeper, Elizabeth Tarasevich, registered two saves.
Fordham goaltender Misiaszek played for 68:58 minutes and recorded four saves. Off the bench, senior Meghan McDonald had no saves in 21:02 minutes of play.
Temple, 2-9-1. 0-4 in A-10 play, next travels to La Salle for a Sunday (Oct. 12) match at McCarthy Stadium (1:00 p.m.).
