10.24.03 | Women's Soccer
RICHMOND- The Temple women's soccer team fell to Richmond, 2-0, on October 24 on the road at First Market Stadium. The win moves Richmond, 6-1-1, to first place in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
The Spiders netted their first goal in the 27th minute of play as freshman forward Brooke Binswangeer nailed the ball into the goal following a passing combination from freshman defender Dani Amarant to junior midfielder Olina Vidarsdottir. Nearly ten minutes into the second half, Vidarsdottir struck again and scored the final unassisted goal of the game.
Temple goalkeeper Jackie Mauro notched a season high 14 saves in the losing effort. Richmond goaltender senior Samantha Honig registered one save in her first shut-out of season.
The Owls continue their weekend road trip as they next take on George Washington on Sunday, October 26.
