The Flyers provided a balanced offensive attack as nine players contributed to the scoring. Only six minutes into the game, junior Tesia Kozlowski sent a corner kick into the box and senior Erin Showalter knocked it into cage. Nearly six minutes later sophomore Laura Boland fed the ball to sophomore Reba Sedlacek, who scored on a header. Sedlacek found the cage again in the 19th minute of play, as she accepted a cross from Beth McHugh. In the 32nd minute of play sophomore Stacy Palumbo crossed the ball to freshman Jamie Yates, who sent it over the goal line for the final score in the first half.
Yates picked up where she left off and scored the first goal of the second half. Yates accepted a long pass from junior Jessica Melvin and chipped it into the net. Kozlowski sent a cross to Sedlacek in the 87th minute of play for the final goal of the game. Sedlacek recorded her first collegiate hat trick in the contest.
Temple's goaltenders, junior Jackie Maurao and freshman Elizabeth Tarasevich, evenly split time in goal. Mauro registered six saves in the first half, while Tarasevich recorded three saves in the second half.
Dayton's goalkeepers, junior Amanda Kuntz and freshman Sarah West, also split time in goal. West registered one save in the first half, while Kuntz recorded four saves in the second half.
