WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DROPS EXHIBITION FINALE TO TEAM CONCEPT, 69-68

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team dropped its exhibition finale to Team Concept, a team of former collegiate standouts, 69-68 on November 14 at the Liacouras Center.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree led a quartet of Owls in double figures with 19 points and a game-high 15 rebounds. Junior guard Cynthia Jordan (13), junior forward Ari Moore (12) and freshman guard Britney Jordan (11) also had double figures in scoring for Temple. Britney Jordan, a former high school all-american also had seven assists, one turnover and four steals in 30 minutes.

Kate Starbird (20 points) and Beth Record (17 points) led Team Concept. Jenny Mowe was the top rebounder for the visitors with 10 boards.

Temple held and edge in rebounding, 39-37, turnover (Temple 18, Team Concept 22) and steals 13-7 but Team Concept proved deadly from the three point line where it hit 9-18 (50 percent). Team Concept also had seven blocks while the Owls managed three.

Temple's next game is its season opener when the Owls face Florida International in the Spartan Classic at Michigan State on Saturday, November 22. Tip-off is at 4:00 p.m.
