WOMEN'S BASKETBALL DEFEATS TURKISH NATIONAL TEAM IN EXHIBITION OPENER

Sophomore center Candice Dupree led the Owls with 13 points and a game-high nine rebounds. Senior guard Christena Hamilton and junior guard Cynthia Jordan had 12 points apiece to round out the double figure scorers for Temple. Freshman Britney Jordan added nine points in her collegiate debut.
Saziye Ivegin of the Turkish National Team led all scorers with 14 points. Arzue Ozygit (13) and Yasemin Horasan (10) were the other double figure scorers for the visitors.
Temple outshot the Turkish Nationals 49 percent to 31 percent. The Owls also held the edge in rebounding (39-32), steals (14-7), assists (18-12) and turnovers (Temple 18, Turkish National Team 25).
Temple returns to action on Friday, November 14 when the Owls tip-off another doubleheader, this time at the Liacouras Center. The opponent is Team Concept and game time is 6:00 p.m.
