12.12.03 | Football
Wallace had the sixth-best single-season tackle output in Temple history in 2003, posting 148 tackles (97 solo) while also registering 19.5 tackles-for-losses. He ranked second in the Big East and seventh nationally in total tackles (12.33 per game), first in the conference and eighth nationally in solo tackles (8.08 per game) and tied for first in the league and tied for 13th nationally in TFLs (1.63 per game).
Wallace is one of three Big East linebackers named to CollegeFootballNews.com's All-America team. West Virginia's Grant Wiley received first team honors, while Miami's Jonathan Vilma earned honorable mention status. Of the 15 student-athletes that comprised CFN's all-america linebacking corps (three first team, three second team, three third team and six honorable mention), Wallace is the only non-junior or senior selected to the first, second or third teams.
Wallace has received All-America accolades in each of his two seasons on the gridiron. In 2002, he was named a Fourth Team Freshman All-American by The Sporting News. Wallace was redshirted as a true freshman in 2001.
