OWLS TAME WILDCATS, 86-82 IN WOMEN'S HOOPS OVERTIME THRILLER

Joining Hamilton and Belafonte in double figures were junior guard Cynthia Jordan (19 points) and sophomore center Candice Dupree (14 points, seven rebounds). With time ticking away in regulation and Kentucky clinging to a three point lead, Jordan heaved a three as the clock expired to send the game into the five minute extra session. The Owls took control from there and sealed the victory.
Sara Potts, SeSe Helm and Jenny Pfeiffer each scored 14 points for Kentucky. Shambrica Jones (13 points) and Angela Phillips (10 points) rounded out the double figure scorers for the Wildcats. Helm also grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds for Kentucky.
Temple (3-2) won the turnover battle, forcing 22 Kentucky turnovers while committing 13. The Owls also held the edge is steals, nine to seven and had a huge differntial in blocked shots (10-1). The Wildcats (4-4) won the battle of the boards, 48-42 and shot 46 percent to Temple's 42 percent.
Next up for Temple, Big Five rival Villanova on Friday, December 19 at the Liacouras Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. and the game can be seen live on CN8 televison.
