PHILADELPHIA -- With two shutouts and 109 saves this season, junior goalkeeper Jackie Mauro was named the Temple University women's soccer team MVP award at its annual banquet held at the Spaghetti Warehouse on December 7, 2003. The team members voted on seven awards, presented by interim head coach David Jones at the banquet.

Freshman defenders Kamille Edwards and Kelly Lare split Rookie of the Year honors. Edwards saw action in 14 games, while Lare played in 19 games. Each provided support during many defensive stances by the Owls.

Senior Sara Meehan earned the Most Improved Player award, while junior Christine McInaw earned the hardest worker award. The goal of the year award went to sophomore forward Stephanie Vietry for her game-winning overtime goal against Massachusetts on October 31, 2003.

As a leader and encourager both on and off the field, senior captain Johanna Yemm won the team spirit award. For her outstanding performance in the classroom, sophomore Trish Dalton earned the academic award.
