12.18.03 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team will host Villanova on Friday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. at the Liacouras Center in a game that has Philadelphia Big Five title implications. The game can be seen locally on CN8 television with Leandra Reilly and Megan Keating calling the action.

Villanova can clinch the Big Five title with a win as it has already beaten La Salle, Penn and Saint Joseph's. Temple can put itself in position to gain a share of the city series title if it prevails. The Owls and Wildcats represent two contrasting styles of play as Temple (3-2) plays up-tempo while Villanova (8-1) plays at a more deliberate pace.

Both teams are led by sophomores as Candice Dupree leads the Owls in scoring (17.6 ppg.) and rebounding (6.6 rpg.). Junior guard Cynthia Jordan is Temple's assist leader (4.2 apg.) and has a 2.1-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Liad Suez is the Wildcats top scorer (14.7 ppg.) while senior Courtney Mix is Villanova's top rebounder (7.0 rpg.)

The game will also be broadcast on the internet through Yahoo sports with Joe Heyer calling the action. Log on to www.owlsports.com, click on women's basketball and find the "Listen live to all home games" option.
