WOMEN'S BASKETBALL INVADES CAJUN COUNTRY TO FACE No. 16/18 LSU

Baton Rouge, La. - The Temple women's basketball team has crossed a time zone to face nationally-ranked LSU on Monday, December 22 at 8:00 p.m. EST at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center (Tip-off is 7:00 p.m. local time). The Tigers are 16th in the Associated Press poll, 18th in the ESPN/USA Today poll, they have won seven in a row and are undefeated at home.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree leads the Owls and ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10 Conference in scoring at 19.2 points per game. Dupree is also the team leader in rebounding, averaging 7.3 boards per contest. Junior guard Cynthia Jordan is atop the conference in assist/turnover ratio (2.4/1) and her backcourt mate, senior guard Christena Hamilton is second in the league at 2.0/1.

Senior guard Seimone Augustus is LSU's top point producer at 15.7 points per game. The Tigers start three guards and each averages double figures in scoring.

LSU (8-2) is the second of three opponents Temple will face this season. The Owls (3-3) are 1-0 against the SEC following their 86-82 overtime win over Kentucky on December 13. Ironically, the Tigers are 1-0 against the A-10 following their 76-53 win over Richmond on December 18.

The game will not be broadcast in the Philadelphia area.
