WOMEN'S HOOPS TO HOST PENN IN BIG FIVE CLASH

12.9.03 | Women's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple women's basketball team hosts the Penn Quakers on December 9 at the Liacouras Center at 7:00 p.m. Although the game will be the Owls' second home game of the season, it will be their first at the Liacouras Center as their home opener, a 68-46 win over East Tennessee State, was played at McGonigle Hall.

Temple has not played a game since its November 28 game against the Bucs due to the postponement of its scheduled December 6 game at No. 22 Rutgers because of inclement weather. The Owls are 2-1 while the Quakers are 2-3.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree is Temple's leading scorer (15.0 ppg.) shooting a sizzling 68.8 percent from the field. Dupree also ranks second on the team in rebounding, grabbing 5.3 boards per contest. Junior guard Cynthia Jordan is the Owls' Student-Athlete of the Week and leads the team in assists (4.3 apg.) while ranking third in scoring (10.7 ppg.)

Penn's top scorer and rebounder is 5-10 senior Jewel Clark who averages 17.6 points and 9.6 rebounds per game.

The game will be broadcast live online with Joe Heyer calling the action through www.yahoo.com. Select sports and the college broadcasts option to hear the game.
