Cobb, the Owls' all-time reception leader with 165 career catches, set the school's single-season reception mark with 74 catches for 866 yards and five touchdowns in 2003, the fourth best receiving yardage total in program history. He produced 1,121 all-purpose yards (93.4 avg. per game) this past season and ranked 21st nationally in receptions per game (6.17) and 38th in punt return average (10.81).
Cobb becomes the second Temple wide receiver to earn First Team All-Big East accolades since the league's inception in 1991. Van Johnson captured the honor in 1996. Johnson has played in the Arena Football League since 1999 and is currently a member the AFL's Philadelphia Soul.
Wallace had the sixth-best single-season tackle output in Temple history in 2003, posting 148 tackles (97 solo) while also registering 19.5 tackles-for-losses. He ranked second in the Big East and seventh nationally in total tackles (12.33 per game), first in the conference and eighth nationally in solo tackles (8.08 per game) and tied for first in the league and tied for 13th nationally in TFLs (1.63 per game).
Wallace becomes the third Temple freshman or sophomore to earn All-Big East honors since 1991. Linebacker Lance Johnstone earned second team all-league recognition as a freshman and sophomore (1992, 1993), while offensive lineman Tre Johnson earned second team all-conference accolades as a sophomore in 1991. Johnstone has played in the National Football League since 1996 and is currently a member of the Minnesota Vikings. Johnson played nine seasons in the NFL from 1994-2002 with the Washington Redskins and Cleveland Browns.
Selections for the All-Big East Conference Team are determined by a vote of the league's eight head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own players.
