SOFTBALL SPRING CLASSIC CANCELLED DUE TO ICY FIELD CONDITIONS AND COLD TEMPERATURES

The Temple University softball team (1-4) was scheduled to play this weekend, March 1-2 at the annual Temple Spring Classic. The series, which included the Princeton and Lehigh University softball teams, was cancelled today, February 26. Erny Field, home of the Temple Owls, is covered in ice from last week's storm that blasted the Philadelphia area with almost two feet of snow. The games against Princeton and Lehigh will not be rescheduled.

The Owls depart Wednesday, March 5 for Plant City, Florida. They will resume play on March 6 at 2 p.m. against Central Michigan and follow that game with a 4 p.m. contest with Pacific.
