WOMEN'S SOCCER CONTINUES WINNING WAYS IN THE CLASSROOM

PHILADELPHIA -- For the fourth year in a row, the Temple University women's soccer team will be honored for their academic excellence at halftime of the men's basketball game on February 19. The team has an overall GPA of 3.23.
Leading the team out to the court will be freshman Samantha Vierty who obtained a 4.0 GPA in the fall semester. Also leading the team will be 2003 team captain Johanna Yemm who has a 3.93 GPA and received the Owls Club Academic award this year.
For the third consecutive year, the team also received the 2002 National Soccer Coaches Association of America academic award this past January. This award is given to teams that show excellence in academics in a given year.
