WOMEN'S TENNIS DOWNS DUQUESNE 7-0

PHILADELPHIA -- Marking their first Atlantic 10 victory of the spring season, the Temple University Women's tennis team (2-0) defeated the Duquesne Dukes 7-0 this afternoon, February 21, 2003 at the Arthur Ashe Tennis Center.

In singles action, Danira Penic defeated Alma Klinova 7-5 in the No. 1 singles spot while freshman Ana Maslesa defeated Manna Zelenovic 6-0, 6-2. In the No. 3 singles spot, junior Lara Ercegovic beat Katie Reidinger 6-0, 6-2 and Mia Marovic defeated Sarah Shanahan 6-1, 6-0. Lauren Verrall and Rene Deyzel easily defeated their opponents in the No. 5 and 6 singles spots with 6-0, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-0 straight set victories respectively.

All three Owls doubles teams pulled out victories in their matches to secure the team 7-0 team win.

Next up for the Owls is a road trip to State College where they will take on Penn State and American on Saturday, March 1, 2003.
