LACROSSE FALLS 10-9 TO BLUE HENS

Newark, Del. - The Temple lacrosse team (2-1) lost 10-9 to Delaware (1-1) on Saturday, March 8 at Delaware. Freshman attacker Patty Glavin (Folsom, Pa./Ridley) led the Owls with four goals and two assists. Senior midfielder Deanna Radcliffe (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley)added three goals and one assist and junior midfielder Tiffany Pulaski (Boyertown, Pa./Boyertown) rounded out the Owls' scoring with two goals.

Delaware had four multi--goal scorers including, Shannon Kron (three), Megan Hager (two), Nikki Kucharrski (two), and Libby Pforr (two).

The Blue Hens opened the scoring on a goal by Nikki Kucharski 47 seconds into the contest. Temple's Radcliffe evened the score with an assisted goal with 28:44 remaining in the first half. The Owls' Pulaski and Glavin added two first half goals to give Temple a 5-4 lead at intermission.

The Blue Hens scored four goals in a three minute span to take an 8-7 lead with 21:45 left in the second half. However Temple's Glavin added her fourth goal of the game 33 seconds later to knot the score at 8-8.

Temple and Delaware exchanged goals until with 9:03 left in the contest; Delaware's Hagar scored the game-winning goal lifting the Blue Hens to their first win of the season.

The Owls' goalkeepers Megan McLouth (Centreville, Va./Centreville) had 10 saves in 48 minutes and Sheena Oommen (New Hyde Park, N.Y./New Hyde Park) recorded two saves in less than 12 minutes of action. Delaware's net minders Patrice Hughes (8 saves) and Lauren Burtch (3 saves) combined for the win.

Temple will return home to host Penn on Wednesday, March 19 at 4p.m. at Geasey Field.
