SOFTBALL DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS MASSACHUSETTS CANCELLED

The Temple softball team was scheduled to play a doubleheader against the Minutewomen of UMass on Sunday, April 6, however, both games have been cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

The Owls departed Rhode Island and headed to Amherst, only to find the Massachusetts softball field buried under snow and ice. Facility managers at UMass deemed the field unplayable over the next two days. Atlantic 10 rules state that a game not played on its scheduled date must be played on its rain date (the following day), otherwise the games cannot be played at all. The Owls only chance to see the Minutewomen in head-to-head action will be at the Atlantic 10 Conference Championships in May.

The Owls head home and will prepare for a non-conference game against the University of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, April 9. The game will be played at Penn, and is set to begin at 3:30 p.m.
