WOMEN'S TENNIS SNAPS LOSING STREAK WITH 4-3 WIN OVER OLD DOMINION

PHILADELPHIA- The Temple University Women's Tennis team (5-6) snapped a five match losing streak when they defeated Old Dominion 4-3 on Sunday, April 6 at Old Dominion.

Freshmen Mia Marovic and Ana Maslesa won their matches 6-3, 6-1 and 2-6, 7-5, 6-3 respectively in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles spots. In the No. 1 singles spot, Danira Penic was defeated 6-2, 6-2 and Rene Deyzel and Lauren Verrall lost their matches 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-4 respectively in the No. 4 and No. 5 singles spot. The Owls picked up a win at the No. 6 singles spot when Old Dominion forfeited the match.

In doubles action, the duo of Mia Marovic and Lauren Verrall defeated Julia Sotiriu and Coralie Herrmann 8-3. The Owls picked up another win on an ODU default in the No. 3 doubles position. The duo of Danira Penic and Ana Maslesa were defeated 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles spot.

Next up for the Owls is a match against Richmond on Monday, April 7. 2003. Match time is set for 2:00 p.m.
