SOFTBALL: OWLS' PFLUEGER AND GARY NAMED MID-ATLANTIC REGION ALL-AMERICANS

PHILADELPHIA- Junior catcher Alexis Gary (San Diego, CA./Mt. Carmel) and senior designated player Bari Lynn Pflueger (Allentown, PA./Parkland) were selected to the 2003 Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division I Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.

This season Gary led the Owls with a .366 average, 12 doubles, and three home runs. She posts a .421 average and a .658 slugging percentage in Atlantic 10 play.

Pflueger, an all-conference selection last season at first base, was limited to the designated player position this season because of a shoulder injury. She finished the regular season with a .283 average, two home runs and 14 RBI. In conference games she was .417 at the plate going 15 for 36, with a .556 slugging percentage.

The Owls concluded their 2003 campaign with a 22-20 overall record and a 10-4 mark in conference play.
