LACROSSE TO TRAVEL TO COLLEGE PARK TO FACE MARYLAND IN OPENING ROUND OF NCAA TOURNAMENT

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple lacrosse team (13-5, 7-0 A-10) fresh off its third straight Atlantic 10 Conference Championship victory, will face second-ranked Maryland (16-3, 3-0 ACC) in the opening round of the 2003 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship on Thursday, May 8 at 4:00 p.m.

Temple will enter the 16-team NCAA Tournament field following its 15-9 victory over UMass to capture the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championship. Senior Deanna Radcliffe (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) is Temple's scoring leader with 72 points (60 goals, 12 assists). The Owls were 3-3 on the road this season.

The Terapins are coming off a 9-8 loss to #1 Loyola on Saturday, May 3. Kelly Coppedge is Maryland's top point producer with 83 points (63 goals and 20 assists). The Terapins had an 8-3 home record this season and were unbeaten in ACC play.
