TEMPLE OWLS FOOTBALL TEAM FLOCKS TO THE JERSEY SHORE TO PROMOTE UPCOMING SEASON

7.16.03 | General

Temple University Head Football Coach Bobby Wallace leads his 2003 Temple Owls to the Jersey shore resorts of Cape May and Ocean City on Sunday, July 20, during the team's Fifth Annual Shore Tour. Coaches, players, cheerleaders and mascot "Hooter" will all be on hand with promotional materials, prizes, autographs and more in an effort to promote the Owls' upcoming season.

The tour begins at the Rusty Nail Restaurant in Cape May for a breakfast at 9:15 a.m., and then moves to Convention Hall on Cape May's Beach Promenade, where the Owls will greet fans from approximately 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

From there, it's a short flight northward to the Ocean City Music Pier, which will be the Owls' landing zone from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Vacationing Temple fans are encouraged to stop by and say hello to the visiting Owls in either city, and to register to win a pair of free tickets to the September 6 home opener against Villanova University.

"Everyone knows the New Jersey shore is a favorite flight path of migrating birds, and that includes vacationing Temple fans," said Coach Wallace. "We'll go anywhere to see them, and we're looking forward to seeing many of them on July 20."
