TEMPLE NAMES DAVID JONES INTERIM WOMEN'S SOCCER COACH

PHILADELPHIA -- David Jones, a third year assistant men's soccer coach at Temple University, has been named the interim head coach for the University's women's soccer program. With a wide range of both coaching and playing experience, Jones will serve as the program's interim coach for the remainder of the 2003 season.

Besides his coaching experience at Temple, Jones has served as both the girls' and boys' soccer coach at North Penn High School (Lansdale, Pa.). Prior to that, Jones also guided Gloucester County Community College to the NJCAA National Championships in both 1994 and 1995.

A standout player at Elizabethtown University ('86), Jones was selected to the 1985 NSCAA First Team All-American team and played in the 1986 Senior Bowl. He went on to play professionally with the Bray Wanderers in Bray, Ireland and the Philadelphia Freedom in the USISL. Jones also has administrative experience, serving as director of sales and player personnel with the Philadelphia Kixx.

In addition to his coaching duties, Jones is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Special Education at Temple University.
