TEMPLE ANNOUNCES 2003-04 WOMEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE

PHILADELPHIA (09/18/03) - Temple University has announced its 2003-04 women's basketball schedule. The list of opponents includes as many as 12 teams that competed in the postseason in 2003 and is highlighted by a trip to head coach Dawn Staley's old stomping grounds when the Owls play in the Cavalier Classic against Staley's alma mater, the University of Virginia. In the game against the Cavaliers, Staley, who played at Virginia from 1989-92, will match-up against her former coach, Debbie Ryan.

participant, Florida International. Other 2003 postseason participants on the schedule include Michigan State (NCAA), Rutgers (NCAA), Villanova (NCAA), LSU (NCAA), Virginia (NCAA), Minnesota (NCAA), Georgia State (NCAA), Richmond (WNIT), Saint Joseph's (WNIT), Xavier (NCAA) and George Washington (NCAA).

The Owls will not have to travel far for the Atlantic 10 Tournament as it will be played at the Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse on the campus of crosstown rival Saint Joseph's from March 5-8. The first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament are even closer as they will be played on Temple's home court, The Liacouras Center.
