CANDICE DUPREE NAMED BIG FIVE WOMEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore center Candice Dupree, who helped the Owls get off to a 3-0 start in Atlantic 10 Conference play, was named Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week on January 13.

Dupree led Temple in scoring in two of three games during the week ending Sunday, January 11. She scored 12 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Owls' 61-43 victory over Fordham on January 6 at the Liacouras Center. On the road, Dupree was just as impressive as she scored 13 points, hauled down 12 boards and had three blocked shots in Temple's 52-40 win at Massachusetts on January 9 and she finished off the week with a 14-point, seven-rebound effort as the Owls defeated St. Bonaventure, 70-56 in Elmira, N.Y. on January 11.

Dupree leads Temple in scoring (16.2 ppg.) and rebounding (7.1 rpg.). The Tampa, Florida native ranks among the Atlantic 10 leaders in field goal percentage shooting 63.6 percent from the floor. She is also among the top five in the A-10 in blocks with 18 this season.
