Sophomore center Candice Dupree led the Owls with 10 points and was the only Temple player to score in double figures. Britney Jordan tied a career-high with four steals.

Temple (8-7, 4-0 A-10) had a slight edge in turnovers, forcing 17 while committing 16 and in blocks, 2-1. While the teams were even in steals (6-6), Rutgers (10-7, 2-3 BIG EAST) held the advantage in rebounding, 36-33 and the Scarlet Knights had 16 assists while the Owls had nine. Rutgers also dominated the shooting from the floor (45 percent to 33 percent), the three point arc (60 percent to 43 percent) and especially the free throw line (84 percent to 46 percent).
The Owls won't have much time to think about the loss as they have two huge conference matchups coming up this weekend. Temple hosts Richmond, the A-10 West leader, on Friday, January 23 at 7:00 p.m. and makes the short trip across town to battle Saint Joseph's, who holds a half game edge in the A-10 East over Temple, on Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Alumni Memorial Fieldhouse.
