A-10 EAST MEETS WEST AS WOMEN'S HOOPS HOSTS RICHMOND

This is the fifth meeting between the two schools with the series tied at two games apiece. The Owls knocked the Spiders out of the 2003 Atlantic 10 Championship with a 58-56 win in the quarterfinals in the last meeting. Richmond (13-4, 5-1 A-10) boasts the league's number one scoring offense at 73.5 points per game. Temple (8-7, 4-0 A-10), which ranks fifth in scoring defense, averages 60.9 points per game and yields 61.2 points per game to its opponents.
Sophomore center Candice Dupree leads the Owls in scoring (15.1 ppg.) and rebounding (7.1 rpg.). Dupree also leads the Atlantic 10 and ranks seventh in the nation in field goal percentage (62.3 percent). Junior guard Cynthia Jordan, the number two scorer (10.3 ppg.), tops Temple in assists (4.4 apg.), free throw percentage (84 percent) and leads the A-10 in assist/turnover ratio 2.25/1.
Richmond boasts four double figure scorers, led by junior Kate Flavin, who ranks fourth in the A-10 at 18.8 points per game. Falvin also averages a team best 9.8 boards per contest. Sophomore guard Saona Chapman ranks second in the A-10 in assists at 5.6 per game.
