1.27.04 | Women's Basketball
PHILADELPHIA - Fresh off leading the Temple women's basketball team to back-to-back overtime wins, freshman guard Britney Jordan was named Philadelphia Big Five women's basketball Player of the Week on January 27.
Jordan helped the Owls (10-7, 6-0 A-10) become the only remaining undefeated team in Atlantic 10 Conference games with her stellar play. After starting the week with eight points and a career-high four steals in a non-conference loss at Rutgers, she erupted for a career-high 27 points in Temple's 72-70 overtime win against Richmond on January 23. The Peoria, Illinois native then led the Owls with 15 points as Temple edged Saint Joseph's, which was previously unbeaten in A-10 play, 62-61 in overtime.
Over the three-game span, Jordan averaged 16.6 points per game while totaling seven rebounds, five assists and seven steals. Jordan also earned Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honors on January 25.
