WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TRAVELS TO RHODE ISLAND

KINGSTON, R.I. - The Temple women's basketball team (11-7, 7-0 A-10) looks to extend its A-10 unbeaten streak to eight games when it travels to take on Rhode Island (10-9, 3-5 A-10) on February 1 at the Ryan Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 12:00 noon.

Temple leads the all-time series, 27-13. The Owls also won the most recent meeting, 57-47 on January 18 at the Liacouras Center. Rhode Island leads the conference in turnover margin at +5.3.

Sophomore center Candice Dupree is Temple's top scorer (14.6 ppg.) and rebounder (7.3 rpg.). Cynthia Jordan, the Owls' number two scorer (9.4 ppg.), leads Temple in assists (4.3 apg.) and tops the Atlantic 10 in assist/turnover at 2.0/1. Freshman guard Britney Jordan has led the Owls in scoring in their last three games.

Rhode Island boasts three double figure scorers led by sophomore forward Tanya Rhodes (13.7 ppg.) who also leads the Rams in rebounding at 7.3 boards per contest. Senior guard Shayla Johnson, a Philadelphia area native, (11.8 ppg.) and fellow senior Denise King (11.1 ppg) also average in double digits for Rhode Island.

There will be no Philadelphia area broadcast of this game.
