LARE'S LATE GOAL HELPS WOMEN'S SOCCER SECURE TIE WITH ST. BONNIES

ST. BONAVENTURE, NY --  Sophomore Kelly Anne Lare scored the game-tying goal with 90 seconds remaining in regulation as Temple and St. Bonaventure played to a 1-1 double overtime tie in an Atlantic 10 Conference women's soccer match Sunday afternoon at McGraw Jennings Field.   The Owls improve to 4-12-1, 1-7-1 in Atlantic 10 play.  SBU stands at 8-8-2 and 1-6-2 in conference action.

 

Lois Bennet opened the scoring for the Bonnies in the 20th minute with Jacquee Parmiter and Pam Stottle assisting on the play. 

 

The game remained scorless until Lare tallied her third of the season to knot the game in the 89th minute.

 

Senior Jackie Mauro made six saves in goal for the Owls.  Mauro again faced constant offensive pressure as the Bonnies out-shot the Owls, 16-5.  Lisa Eberhart recorded four saves in goal for SBU.

 

Temple heads back to Ambler Field for its final homestand of the season.  The Owls host George Washington on Friday, October 29 (3:00 p.m.) and then celebrate Senior Day on Halloween against Richmond (1:00 p.m.).
