PHILADELPHIA -- Temple (1-0) welcomes #2 LSU to the Liacouras Center Tuesday night for its home opener. The Tigers are the highest ranked women's team to visit the Liacouras Center  in its  eight-year history. In the Thanksgiving spirit, admission to the game is free with the donation of a canned good.

The Owls are coming off a hard-fought 68-61 victory at Brown on Friday. Junior Candice Dupree had game-highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds and went 13-for-17 from the charity stripe. Her 13 free throws made were one short of tying a program record set by Mimi Carroll against Maryland on February 18, 1986.

Sophomore Kamesha Hairston added 14 points and a career-high eight rebounds, while senior Ari Moore chipped in with 12 points (6-6 FT) and nine rebounds.
It has been over 15 years since the Cherry and White knocked off a ranked opponent. Temple defeated #20/21 Rutgers in the Atlantic 10 semifinals, 81-68, on March 10, 1989.  LSU would be the highest ranked opponent the Owls had ever defeated.

LSU (4-0) is ranked #2 in both polls (ESPN/Coaches and Associated Press-Nov. 23) and is coming off a 80-35 win over Southern Mississippi on Sunday. The Lady Tigers are led by ESPN.com Preseason National Player of the Year Seimone Augustus, who is averaging 22.8 ppg. and shooting .650 from the field. LSU has breezed by three of its opponents (Arizona State, 65-54 and Maine 81-50), but needed a strong second half comeback and 33 points from Augustus to top #8 Baylor, 71-70, on Nov. 14.
